United Airlines WiFi Availability & Details

United Airlines wifi service is provided by four wifi providers and they are Gogo, Pansonic, Thales, ViaSat. Each of them provides different coverage. So, to find out whether your flight has coverage, search for the aircraft type when reservation and compare with the information map given below. 

Note: As a passenger, you will get United WiFi℠ on all of the United Airlines mainline aircraft as well as two of their regional aircraft. 

Also, your flight aircraft and wifi coverage can be changed for a specific reason. Wifi coverage can vary on Boeing 757-200 and 757-300 aircraft as their internet coverage is provided by three different providers.

Gogo:

Generally, Gogo provides Wifi Coverage on the mainland of the USA, some parts of Alaska & Canada(note-1). Gogo provides wifi service to the following aircraft: Embraer 170, Embraer 175, Bombardier CRJ-700, and CRJ-550.

Note-1: Wifi coverage availability may change due to government restrictions of different restricted areas.

Panasonic:

Panasonic provides worldwide(note-2) coverage for united airlines flights. Panasonic provides wifi service to the following United airlines aircraft: Select Airbus 319, Airbus 320, select Boeing 757-200footnote3, select 757-300footnote3, 767-300ER, 767-400ER, 777-200, 777-200ER, 777-300ER, 787-8, 787-9 & 787-10.

Note-2: Wifi coverage availability may change due to government restrictions on certain areas and on polar routes. 

Note-3:Also wifi coverage will vary from aircraft to aircraft.

Thales:

Thales provides wifi coverage to the US continental(note-4). Aircraft that uses wifi service of Thales includes: Boeing 737-700(note-5), 737-800(note-5), 737-900(note-5), 737-900ER(note-5) and select 757-300(note-6).

Note-4:Wifi coverage availability of these areas can be interrupted by government restrictions.

Note-5: 737 aircraft that fly to Micronesia and Guam won’t provide inflight WiFi service.

Note-6:For these aircraft internet coverage can vary.

ViaSat:

ViaSat provides wifi coverage to US Continental, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Europe(Note-7) & The Caribbean. Following aircraft provide wifi service via ViaSat: Select Airbus 319, select Boeing 737-900, Boeing 757-200 with premium transcontinental service & 737 MAX 9.

Note-7:Wifi availability may change in this area due to polar routes & restrictions by the government. Also, flights of Alaska & Hawaii may face limited wifi or no wifi service issue.

United Airlines provides Wifi subscription service & based on duration and region you will be charged. Although you can buy only monthly & annual subscriptions. Daily Subscription is not available. To connect to United Airlines’ wifi service, you will have to use a Wi-Fi-enabled device. Also, your aircraft must provide Wi-Fi service.
